Submission does not require confidence that nothing could improve. It requires mandatory criteria covered, a verified file, upload time, and confirmation.
Build a mandatory checklist
| Check | Status | Action |
|---|---|---|
| answers the actual prompt | ||
| all required sections | ||
| calculations, facts, and sources | ||
| citation and course rules | ||
| length and format | ||
| correct file and filename | ||
| submission method and deadline |
Do not rely on memory. Open the assignment, rubric, handbook, and recent instructor messages.
Sort edits by risk
- Blocks submission: missing section, unreadable file, mandatory-rule violation.
- Distorts content: error in a calculation, fact, citation, or conclusion.
- Reduces clarity: weak transition, unclear sentence, poor structure.
- Cosmetic: formatting beyond requirements or rewriting an already clear phrase.
Move from top to bottom. Do not polish a familiar paragraph while a required section remains empty.
Use a safe submission ladder
60+ minutes remaining
Close mandatory gaps, check content, and create the final file.
30 minutes remaining
Stop expanding. Check requirements, sources, calculations, and whether the file opens.
10–15 minutes remaining
Freeze the version, name the file, upload it, and open the submitted copy when the platform allows.
After submission
Save confirmation, time, and exact version. Do not replace the file for a cosmetic edit when that risks the deadline or violates policy.
This is an organizational example, not a universal guarantee. The course defines the real deadline, resubmission options, and late-work rules.
If the time no longer works
Estimate the minimum valid version and contact the instructor before the deadline when possible. Do not invent an explanation; state the condition of the work, the risk, and a specific request.
If the platform fails, preserve a screenshot or other permitted evidence and use the official support channel. Do not try to bypass rules by altering a timestamp or file secretly.
After feedback
Carry one lesson into the next assignment: collect requirements earlier, set an internal deadline, or create a separate citation check. Feedback does not prove this version should have remained unsubmitted.
In Flammy, the checklist can become quest stages, with upload and confirmation as separate actions. XP cannot change academic rules or grade the work.
For a personal stopping criterion, use good-enough criteria. If urgency is blocking action, use the deadline emergency protocol.
