The first useful output of an essay is not a polished introduction. It is a working thesis, an argument map, and one paragraph connecting a claim to evidence.

Identify the task verb: explain, compare, evaluate, argue, or analyze. Then write:

When a claim lacks evidence, mark [source needed]. Do not stop the entire draft for one citation, but return to every gap before submission.
Write one analytical paragraph
Use this scaffold:

Link: therefore, for the main question…A structural example rather than ready-made content:
Limiting choice changes not only decision speed but also the criterion used to evaluate it. In Study X, participants… This suggests… For the essay question, the finding means…
Evidence should not speak in place of the writer. After a quotation or result, explain how it supports the thesis and what its limitations are.
Draft in layers
- Complete rough skeleton.
- Claims and evidence.
- Connections between sections.
- Introduction and conclusion.
- Citations, accuracy, and language.
- Final requirements check.
Separate passes prevent endless polishing of the first paragraph while the ending remains empty.
Protect academic integrity
Check course rules for citation, collaboration, and AI tools. Do not insert unverified references or present borrowed or generated prose as your own. Even when a tool is allowed, you remain responsible for facts, reasoning, and any required disclosure.
