First ask whether the task is actually necessary. Clarify who uses the result, what decision it supports, and what happens if it is not done.
If it can be removed or renegotiated, do that. If it remains necessary, define the minimum usable result and a time limit.
You do not need to discover a profound purpose for every administrative action. A bounded obligation can be completed because it supports another agreement. Avoid adding decorative effort to make the task feel more worthy.
